Award-winning filmmaker and artist Sara Peak Convery’s I Never Said I Wasn’t Happy is an Official Selection at the 2014 Fargo Film Festival and will be showcased in March.
The documentary, which was an official selection at the 2013 Landlocked Film Festival, is a candid portrait of a rural Midwestern family by a Midwest daughter. Father, mother and daughter are engaged in a dance of control. Before and after the death of her father, Sara Peak Convery (filmmaker/artist) obsessively examines her parents' difficult relationship through the lens of vibrant painting, photography, 16mm film and revealing interviews. The film observes how her mother Janis finally reclaims her own life after the death of her husband.
The 2014 Fargo Film Festival will be held March 4th-8th at the Fargo Theatre, 314 Broadway, Fargo, ND and will screen selected documentary features and shorts, animation, experimental, narrative features, narrative shorts, and student films.
The Fargo Film Festival screening date and time for I Never Said I Wasn't Happy is Friday March 7th at 10am and ticket information is available at www.FargoFilmFestival.org.
I Never Said I Wasn’t Happy continues screening at film festivals, art theaters and other venues. A DVD release (which will include Sara's other short films) and Midwestern PBS broadcasts are planned for 2014.
